Baseball Practice Facility, Arkansas Tech University, Russellville, Arkansas
Multipurpose Sports Center / Baseball Practice Facility
With the current building used for Men’s Baseball training and practice at Arkansas Tech University slated for demolition, the University determined a new state of the art Baseball practice facility was in order. And with limited financial resources available, it made sense to plan the new practice facility as a multiuse building that would also accommodate Softball, Tennis and Golf team practices.
A detailed space program was developed followed by design concepts for a new facility. The design team recommended integrating the new facility with the outfield wall behind left field, with coaches’ offices and a team meeting room located on the upper level with an outdoor roof terrace overlooking the baseball stadium.
The facility includes a 150' x 150' indoor turf practice area that encompasses a full baseball infield, with an adjacent area sized for a single tennis court. Also included is a practice putting/chipping green, golf simulator, drop down batting cages, locker rooms, team rooms, equipment room/storage, team storage, training room and Baseball Clubhouse.
